School Cancellations (i.e. Snow Days)
The HRCE takes great care and though when deciding to close schools due to bad weather.
There are several possible scenarios we need to prepare for:
| Schools being closed during the day due to deteriorating conditions: |
| a) If schools need to be closed an announcement will be made by 11:00 am on the radio and on the HRCE website. |
| b) All parents will be notified by the school. |
| c) Buses will start to pick students up at 1:00 pm (two hours earlier than normal pick up time). |
| Full closure for the whole day: |
| a) If schools are closed for the while day an announcement will be made on the radio and advertised on the HRCE website by 6:00 am. |
| Delayed Closure |
| a) School opening could be delayed by two hours. This would mean that, here at Admiral Westphal, school would open for all students (including pre-primary) at 10:50 am. Bus pickup in the morning would be delayed by two hours as well. |
| b) Afternoon dismissal times would NOT change - school would dismiss as usual at 3:00 pm, and bus routes would run as usual. |
